Cardigan

A form of knitted clothing called a cardigan is often composed of wool or other cosy fabrics. It is distinguished by having an open front that may be closed with buttons, hooks, or other fasteners. Cardigans come in a variety of cuts, patterns, and lengths, but they all typically have long sleeves and a round or V-neck.

Both men and women can wear cardigans since they are so adaptable. They are well-liked since they are cosy and simple to layer. In colder climates, cardigans can be worn as a warm outer garment or as a fashionable accessory. They go great with jeans, pants, skirts or dresses and may be worn over shirts, blouses, dresses or T-shirts.

The name James Brudenell, the 7th Earl of Cardigan, who popularised the look in the middle of the 19th century, is where the word “cardigan” originates. Since then, cardigans have established themselves as a wardrobe essential and can be found in a wide range of hues, designs, and fabrics to match any style or event.

The traditional button-up cardigan has a V-neckline and buttons on the front. It is a classic option that works for many situations and can be dressed up or down.

Cardigan with an Open Front: This style of cardigan has no buttons or other fasteners and is meant to be worn open. It frequently features a waterfall or draped front, giving it a laid-back appearance.

Oversized Cardigan: As the name implies, oversized cardigans are made to be larger than usual. They have a cosy, loose shape that is ideal for layering over other clothes.

Longline Cardigan: Longline cardigans are longer and frequently end at the knees or below the hips. They may increase covering while also lending an ensemble a sense of sophistication and elegance.

Cardigan with Pattern: Cardigans with patterns, such stripes, floral prints, or geometric shapes, may give your ensemble visual appeal and a splash of colour. They may be a lighthearted and entertaining addition to your closet.

Cardigan Sweater Coat: Due to its length and thickness, this form of cardigan seems like a coat. In cold weather, it may be worn as an outer layer and adds additional warmth.
